Project Linda 2007

The first "Project Linda" event was held on September 26th, 2007. Project Linda donated new windscreens, new tennis equipment, a Project Linda banner and a $500 scholarship (to be awarded at the Girls Tennis Banquet in November) to Linda's Alma Mater: the John W. North High School Tennis Team in Riverside California. Tim Leary, Margaret Shoemaker, Erin Fuller and Eleanor Bartnicki (Linda's mom) addressed the team in a classroom next to the tennis courts before the big match against long time rival Riverside Poly High School. The North High girls tennis team was incredible and their enthusiasm really meant a lot to Linda's mom. Tim gave some background about being alumni of North and how Linda was a tennis star for the school 21 years ago. Her Mom brought a team picture with the League Championship banner and Linda's letterman jacket with all of her award patches. Linda would have been overwhelmed by how excited and involved the tennis team was to the presentation. They really let off a great vibe! Also, the coach did a great job of making time for the presentation during such a emotional rivalry match.
